www.motherrisk.org Motherisk offers pregnant, planning and breasfeeding women answers to questions about moring sickeness and the risk or safety of medications, herbs, diseases, chemical exposures and more.

www.caringforkids.cps.ca  The Canadian Pediatric Society provides parents with interesting articles on a wide range of topics relating to child's mental and physical health.

www.cich.ca Canadian Institute of Child Health - Dedicated to promoting and protecting the health, well-being and rights of all children and youth through monitoring, education and advocacy.

www.fcrc.sacyhn.ca The Family and Community Resource Centre provides free universal access to comprehensive and reliable child health and mental health resources, information and education for families, service providers and community members.  The family and community Resource Centre works through partnerships with agencies like Families Matter to provide these programs at no cost to the community.

www.investinkids.ca  A Canadian non-profit charity.  Invest in Kids aims to Strengthen the parenting knowledge, skills, and confidence of all those who touch the lives of children from birth to age five.

www.tnpc.com The National Parenting Centre: Providing the most comprehensive and responsible parenting advise to parents everywhere.  In addition to general articles the site offers consumer information for products parents may be purchasing.

www.parentsmatter.ca The parent - child relationship is the most powerful influence on children's development.  To do the best possible job, parents need tools and support.  FRP Canada (The Canadian Association of Family Resource Programs) has developed this site for parents and those working with parents.

www.familyservicecanada.org  Family Service Canada is a not for profit national voluntary organization founded in 1982 represents the concerns of families and family serving agencies across Canada.  Membership includes family service agencies, corporations, government agencies and interested individuals.

www.frp.ca The Canadian Association of Family Resource Programs (FRP Canada) promotes the well-being of families by providing national leadership, consultation and resources to those who care for children and support families.

http://www.reducepoverty.ca/  We may not always see it, but poverty lives in our midst.  Calgary may have one of the highest standards of living in Canada, but not all Calgarians are benefitting from it. Many live in poverty, trying to make ends meet with low-paying work or multiple part-time jobs. In 2005, there were 119,000 Calgarians living in poverty (Calgary and Region Social Outlook 2007-2012).  The navigator is a very simple on-line "calculator" that helps families identify what government benefits they might be eligible for.  It's intended to help put additional dollars into the pockets of low-income Calgary families.  Users are asked to input their family demographics and financial information into the navigator

Youth

www.blinggirl.ca  B.L.I.N.G. is a program designed to empower girls and inspire girls to build a strong sense of self through education and dance.  The program runs for six weeks with one hour of education and one hour of hip hop dance a week

www.thenationalcampaign.org The National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy seeks to improve the lives and future prospects of children and families and, in particular, to help ensure that children are born into stable, two-parent families who are committed to and ready for the demanding task of raising the next generation. Our specific strategy is to prevent teen pregnancy and unplanned pregnancy among single, young adults. We support a combination of responsible values and behavior by both men and women and responsible policies in both the public and private sectors.
