Please note that our programs are currently being offered remotely or on-line. We will be announcing when it is safe to reopen our Family Centres and sharing our protocols for environment and participant safety.
Families Matter is committed to strengthening families through life’s many transitions.
Over the past 17 years, we have developed and refined a wide variety of programs and services that respond to the learning and support needs of a diverse range of families. As an agency, we embrace the ‘Strengthening Families’ approach as our pathway to improve outcomes for children and families. This is an evidence-based protective factors framework developed by the Centre for the Study of Social Policy with a focus on promoting five key protective factors linked to child and family well-being:
• Parental Resilience
• Social Connections
• Knowledge of Parenting and Child Development
• Social and Emotional Competence of Children/Youth
• Concrete Support in Times of Need
We also recognize that families come in many sizes, face many challenges and opportunities and span the full spectrum of life’s many stages and ages — from babies to grandparents. To address these needs, we continuously develop our curriculum and add to our list of education partners.
Please note all our programs are currently on hold until we are given go ahead from government to reopen our centre.
