Frontrunners Afterschool Program
FRONTRUNNERS is FREE Calgary AfterSchool program offered to students in grades 4-6, through registration at the schools where the service is provided. At each program session attendance is taken, a healthy snack is offered, and the students are supervised through a safe and inclusive environment to foster confidence and making new friends. The program is developed to help students build their social skills, leadership abilities, creativity and physical literacy. Participants get to enjoy games, crafts, cooking lessons and various dynamic activities to learn while having fun with their peers!
This afterschool program is designed with both structured and informal elements to support youth grades 4-6. All of our activities are based on the SAFE (sequenced, active, focused, and explicit) principles, and designed to have a more targeted effect like learning specific skills; supporting school success; assisting with cultural integration; or building leadership capacities. We also build the activities around friendship, self-esteem, confidence and fun.
Frontrunners is delivered privately at two Calgary schools and registration is not public. Children must be attending the school to participate.
